This past weekend we had the pleasure of conducting a mural exibition at J-Fest, a Christian music festival located in Chattanooga Tennessee. After completion, the mural was auctioned to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going to radio station J103FM. We would like to thank all of the great people at J-Fest and J103FM for inviting us to the festival and to all of the folks who stopped by and chatted with us! These photos are from Imagination Atmosphere’s theming project at First Baptist Church of Red Oak, Texas. The murals and 3-D scenery really transformed their children’s ministry area. We had a great time working with the staff and people of the church and hope for a return visit in the future!

In this themed environment project, Ridgedale Baptist Church requested an Imagination Atmosphere’s mural for their children’s department that would transform the entire area into Noah’s Ark. We decided to create an illuminated Noah himself to welcome the kids into their space. All of the walls were airbrushed to look like wood planks and large port holes served as frames for the large-sized cartoon animals sprinkled throughout. This was an example of taking a smaller budget and still transforming a large area. We like to think that’s probably the way Noah did it too.

It was great for Imagination Atmospheres to be in Rick’s hometown for our first Knoxville themed environments project at Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Hopefully it won’t be our last! The jungle murals and safari murals brought a lot of excitement to the kids.

Like most theatrical arts, theming is a collaboration. It’s a intricate process to come up with a final product that everyone is happy with and it complicates things further when you are hoping to create something on a very limited time frame. While developing a project for our friends at Christ United Methodist Church, a sudden change in color schemes came up yesterday and we all did a little sweating while new decisions were made. Fortunately everything is back on track and we’re ready to proceed again. These things happen in the theming biz and we’ve learned to adjust and get back on track as quick as possible and hopefully keep everyone happy. We’re shooting for a install and reveal this Sunday so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!

Well, it appears the “Great Summer Mural Blitz of 2007″ was a smashing success! We’ve scheduled several church murals for this month and it looks like we’ll be busy painting walls for the next few weeks. In addition, we’ll be finishing up some 3-D foam pieces and airbrushed signs for our good friends at East Brainerd Church of Christ who have patiently awaited the new stuff for their hallways. We’ve finally updated our website which we’ve meaning to do for almost two years now. Check out the new pics and info we’ve added. There will be more to come soon so visit frequently!
